Pregnancy is amazing. A new person is actually growing inside you! This should be celebrated and commemorated, but isn't always.
Some people feel well throughout their pregnancies and some feel ill; some show off their bumps and others don't like the way that their body is changing and feel 'big and awkward'.
I have four children and although I was well and had healthy pregnancies, I felt big and awkward and their are hardly any photographs of me when I was pregnant, and now when my children ask me if they can see a photo of them in my stomach, the only ones that I have to show them are the ones from the hospital scan.
I did consider getting a belly cast, but wasn't sure where I would mount it. If I had known about painting my pregnant stomach then, I would have had that done.
My amazingly talented friend, Katie ( Check out her Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/Katiesfestivalfaces/) does beautiful face painting for children and adults, and has just started painting pregnancy bumps. She can customise a design to your specifications, and if there is an older sibling (or 2, 3 or more), she can paint their faces or arms, too, to match/complement the design on your stomach.
I will be there at the session too, and at the end of it, I will take some beautiful photos of you and your painted bump, both alone and with any older siblings, and then print out a few of the best ones for you to. keep. What an amazing memento that would be.
That way, when your baby turns into a toddler (or older) and asks to see a photo of themselves your stomach, you will have some beautiful images to show them. They don't take up much storage space and will be enjoyed, appreciated and valued for many years after their birth, by both you and your children.
